Fort Harrison Inc/ The Daniel Harrison House

Fort Harrison Inc/ The Daniel Harrison House Fort Harrison (Daniel Harrison House) built about 1749 is located in Dayton, Virginia.

Fort Harrison (the Daniel Harrison House) is an outstanding example of Valley architecture of the 1700's. The oldest section of the house is built of native limestone, a durable building material,which provided settlers in the area with protection against Indian raids during the French and Indian War period. Daniel Harrison and his son Benjamin both served in the militia of Augusta (now Rockingham) County. Peachy Harrison, a local physician, was the last Harrison to own the house.
