Jarrett and Jordan Dahl grew up in Dawson, MN, and enjoyed all the pleasures of living in the country. As children, they climbed trees, played ball, fished the lakes, and annoyed their three beautiful sisters. When summer came, dad, mom, and the five kids headed cross country for family vacation filled with serious adventure and learning. History, geography, and culture took on real meaning as the

y journeyed through almost every state. Jarrett, at the age of 18, and his younger brother Jordan, discovered their chainsaw talent in the summer of 2004, while visiting Alaska. Scott Hanson, a successful chainsaw artist, gave Jarrett a carving lesson on his 2nd day in Alaska, and by the end of the day, he had carved seven little stump bears and they sold quickly. The same summer, 16 year old Jordan, visited Alaska, picked up a chainsaw and carved a cute stump bear. Ever since, Jarrett and Jordan have passionately pursued chainsaw carving and have honed their skills beyond their wildest expectations. Jarrett and Jordan returned to Alaska for two more summers of carving. In 2009, Jordan ventured to Keystone , SD where he set up shop in, a small mountain town, just two miles from Mount Rushmore Memorial. The year after, Jarrett joined him and currently resides there. In 2013, Jordan opened Hill city and in 2018, Jordan opened Deadwood where he has shops to display his beautiful work. They also competed in the St. Paul Ice Carnival and won honors in the single block and multi block competitions. These guys are good, really good at what they do. It's fascinating to watch Jarrett turn an old wooden stump into a majestic eagle, or observe Jordan as he creates amazing wildlife animals out of a large stump. They both have their own areas of expertise and special interests. Jarrett likes to carve big, and the 25 foot Indian warrior with arms stretched skyward holding an in-flight eagle is absolutely a phenomenon. It's one of the five largest chainsaw carvings in the world, and is currently on display at Keystone. Jordan is a master at carving life into bears, eagles and all wild life animals and giving each a unique and distinct personality. They are so adorable that it's almost impossible not to bring one home with you when you visit Deadwood and Hill City! You'll hear more about Jarrett and Jordan and their art, as they are everywhere, MN, SD, CA, Alaska, MO, PA, and Wisconsin. The lessons learned along the journey have served the Dahl brothers well, very well. If you want more information about Dahl’s Chainsaw Art give them a call. Jarrett's phone number is (605) 290-1840 and Jordan's number is 320-226-3581.
