🇺🇸 Thank You, Davison Area Community! 🇺🇸

The Davison Area Historical Society would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for our 🇺🇸 America 250 Celebration: City of Flags 🇺🇸 on Saturday at the Davison Area Historical Museum.

It was wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate America's upcoming 250th Anniversary while honoring Davison's proud heritage as the "City of Flags." From the Model A Car Club and Classic Car show and automotive displays to Revolutionary War-era flags, military history exhibits, and ice cream floats, the day was filled with history, patriotism, and hometown pride.

We would like to thank the classic car owners for their participation, our volunteers who helped make the event possible, and all of our visitors who spent part of their day celebrating with us.

We are also deeply grateful to Fellowship Lodge 236 for their generous support of local history preservation. During the event, Society members were presented the first installment of the Lodge's commitment to support preservation efforts at the historic Dr. F. E. Woolley Veterinarian Building and the ongoing work of the Davison Area Historical Society.

The Lodge announced a total pledge of $5,000, including an initial donation of $4,000 with an additional $1,000 to follow. Their contribution reflects a shared commitment to preserving Davison's history, heritage, and the stories that connect our community across generations.

We not only share a joint commitment to the communities we serve, but also a dedication to honoring our Nation's Flag, both as the City of Flags and as the Brotherhood of Flags. As we continue caring for the Woolley Building and preserving Davison's history for future generations, partnerships like these make a meaningful difference.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, volunteered, and helped make this celebration a success. Together, we continue to honor the past, preserve our heritage, and build a stronger future for the City of Flags.

🌳 Future Event Coming Soon from the Davison Area Historical Society! 🇺🇸

At last Monday’s meeting, the Davison Township Board of Trustees unanimously approved the planting of a Liberty Tree at Davison Cemetery on Potter Road. We are honored to establish this living tribute in such a meaningful location within our community.

Today marked an important milestone in our Liberty Tree project as the hole for the tree was dug this morning and the Liberty Tree was successfully planted this afternoon after its arrival.

This project is being made possible through the generous monetary gift of Michael Madden, a Lifetime Member of the Davison Area Historical Society. We are deeply grateful for his support and commitment to preserving and celebrating our community’s history.

We would also like to thank Davison Monument Company for their generosity and support of this project. Their willingness to assist with this effort with securing a dedication stone reflects a strong commitment to our community and is helping make this lasting tribute possible.

The Liberty Tree will serve as a living symbol of America’s 250th Anniversary, honoring the ideals of liberty, civic engagement, and the many veterans whose service has helped preserve our freedoms.

We are currently planning a dedication ceremony for this September, with additional details still being finalized. Watch for future announcements as plans and partnerships continue to come together to make this a special America 250 celebration for the Davison Area Community.

Thank you to everyone helping make this project possible!
