What an incredible day at the Davison Area Historical Society Woolley Festival โ€“ America 250 Celebration: History of Animal Life in America! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Davison Area Historical Museum to celebrate history, community, and the reopening of the Woolley Building! From the live sheep shearing demonstration by Sy Caryl of Caryl Sheep Farm, Davison, and wool spinning demonstrations by the Tangled Web Handweavers Fiber Guild, to family games hosted by our volunteers and Brittany from Texas Roadhouse, educational displays showing animal history in the Davison area community, and last but not least Dr. Dunckelโ€™s fascinating veterinary history workshop, the day was filled with learning, laughter, and local pride.

A special thank you to the Davison Area Chamber of Commerce for helping us celebrate the ribbon cutting ceremony and this exciting new chapter for the Woolley Building. ๐ŸŽ€

We were especially honored to welcome descendants of Dr. Woolley to the celebration. Thank you for coming out and sharing in this meaningful day with our communityโ€”it made the event even more special to have members of the Woolley family present as we celebrated the legacy and history of the Woolley Building.

Shout out to the Michigan Architectural Foundation for granting DAHS the Evans Graham Preservation award for $30,000 to replace the wood shingle roof, which was completed just in time for the Woolley Festival by Butcher & Butcher Construction, who did a fabulous job.

Weโ€™re also tremendously grateful to our incredible volunteers, demonstrators, community partners, and every family who came out to support the museum and make the festival such a success. Events like these remind us how important it is to preserve and celebrate our shared history together.

Thank you for being part of this special dayโ€”we loved celebrating with you! ๐Ÿ’›
