By Sonja Rohde Oversized flowers-poppies, saffron crocuses, passionflowers, St. John's wort-tower over a solitary figure. These plants have long been associated with remedies for sleeplessness, anxiety, and emotional distress.
Their monumental scale transforms them into both shelter and threat, evoking the pervasive search for relief in a world of chronic unease.
The painting reflects on the hidden, often overwhelming struggle to cope while acknowledging these challenges as universal human experiences. On view at Frida Art Gallery. Opening Reception: Sunday September 13, 2:00 - 4:00 PM. Studios, 18 Old Ridgebury Rd., Danbury, CT.
