Laurie Martineau was born in North Carolina and moved to Florida and then finally to Texas at the ripe age of 5 years old. As the daughter of an Air Force Lt. Colonel who later became a teacher and a Mom who was an English Teacher – she had a curious mind from the beginning. Growing up she was drawn to the outdoors spending many hours using her fertile imagination.to create scenes and games and make-believe jobs as a teacher and librarian. Later she went to the University of Texas and studied Geology and Math followed by an MBA in Marketing from University of North Texas. Laurie spent the first 25 years of her work life as a Commercial Real Estate Broker in Dallas, TX where she currently resides. She semi-retired and spent the next many years raising her 2 daughters before embarking on a new creative venture making hand made jewelry and small paintings. This desire to paint and create have always been in the background until she finally had time to sit down and just begin. The sudden loss of her Mom presented a need for an emotional outlet and soon painting became a full time passion. Laurie’s painting is abstract in style and reflects emotion and energy and intuition. Recent work has been an exploration of bright and bold color and form to heighten the senses and surprise the eye – placing contrasting color together adjacent to harmonious blends of each to take you up and down the spectrum. Using my professional experience working with architecture, real estate and design, I blend my love for composition and balance with abstract artwork, creating modern and contemporary artwork that work in many different styles of homes and commercial properties.

Pat Martin graduated from SMU in 1972 with a BFA in pottery. After graduation she perfected her crystalline glaze technique on hand throw porcelain vessels. Her work was featured in one woman shows in Dallas and Santa Fe. Her work was also. Her work was also included in shows at the Dallas Museum of Art and the Fort Worth Art Museum. Years later when her son was born, she took time off from her art pursuits to raise him and became the quintessential baseball mom. When he finally left home, she was open to new creative endeavors and stated classes in jewelry fabrication and fell in love with the process. It opened a whole new vista of stones and objects that could be used in jewelry and other wearable art. Always looking for something new she took a weekend workshop in fabric dyeing and started ice dyeing silk scarves. One thing led to another and she had the idea to use bookbinding techniques to fabricate boxes and cover them in dyed silk and top them with gems and stones from her jewelry collection. The results are quite unique and each one is a small work of art.

Artist Statement
My work reflects a long journey through many facets of creating objects- pottery, clothing jewelry, textiles, and now boxes. Each process has lead to something new and unexpected.

I am Travis Williams; I became an artist in 2017, after losing some of the most important people in my life. In trying to work through my grief, I decided to try something new and attended a glass workshop. I enjoyed the workshop immensely and signed up for classes that night. Not only did I find something I enjoyed doing, but I explored the artistic part of myself I never knew existed and had not nourished. After spending decades head down in books, school, my phone, and work, working with glass opened to me the beauty of the world around me.

I work with glass specifically glass fusing and lampworking. I draw inspiration from the world and people around me. An integral part of my work is light. I think about the interplay between the glass and the light as I create and complete a piece. I draw inspiration from within myself, to explore both the positive and negative inner self, my faith, pride in who I am and what I have experienced, as well as challenging myself to expand my skills and my art. My creative process can start anywhere. If I am drawn to a sheet of glass and must create with it, if I want to try a new skill or method, or if I visualize a final piece and work until the piece I envisioned is achieved.

Recently, I have been interested with manipulating glass during the molten stage including raking, vitrograph, lampworking, allowing gravity to move the glass while molten, and using the flow of molten glass in the kiln. I’m also expanding my techniques to include more artistic pieces such as landscapes, sculptures and glass powders and enamels.

“I’ve enjoyed drawing and painting since I was child,” says artist Kerry Adcock. His love for art was always rooted in realism. “My goal is to catch the reality of a scene depicting the finest detail. It is the beauty that is reality.”

Adcock was born in Aurora, Colorado while his father, a career Air Force veteran, was stationed in Denver. As a military family, Adcock traveled and lived all over the world, in Japan, Pakistan, and West Germany. He attended Angelo State University on an Air Force ROTC Scholarship where he studied fine art and art history. In 1979 he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art.
Adcock entered the U.S. Air Force and during his enlistment he had the opportunity to visit The Louvre in Paris which continued to feed his love for art.

After serving his country, he became a police officer at the Fort Worth Police Department. He continued to draw and displayed his work in numerous art shows in Texas and Colorado. While still working for the police department in uniform patrol and later as a detective, Adcock painted part time to include southwest themes, landscapes, religion, and wildlife His work has been in numerous juried art shows in Texas, Colorado, and Wyoming, such as the 2013 Texas National Competition and Exhibitions, the 2017 National Animal Art Juried.

Exhibition, the 2020 40th Annual Western Spirit Juried Art Show and Sale, and the 2021, 2022, and 2023 Cowboy True Art Show, and recently at the 2022 Bosque Art Classic, just to name a few. His art was selected as a finalist in Southwest Art Magazine and was included in the December 2022 issue. One of his pieces was selected as one of the Best of Show artists in the February-May 2023 Fusion Art Competition. Adcock retired from law enforcement in 2021 and is now able to devote more time and energy to his paintings.

I am a Contemporary Abstract & Modern Artist who sometimes likes to explore other areas like Realism and Minimalism. NATURE inspires me with its beauty and colors. With Change of season, I always get inspired to make more art.

I TRAVEL a lot to different countries and cities; My Itinerary will always include a visit to the local Art museums & Galleries. Every time I go to an art show, art fair or a visit to the Art Museum, I feel as though the Artistic juices in me are flowing to make more art. Sometimes I feel I can make that “very easily” or maybe if I can make it “little better” using assorted colors. Also, the interesting designs or colors just inspire me. Sometimes seeing other artists living artistic lives and the business excitement in the air also inspires me.

I enjoyed making paintings and drawings during early years of my school life , Although I had Art as a subject in my school but because of my yearning to learn more and expand my knowledge , outside the school I would learn from Independent Local Artists or take an Art class which I continued to do in my adult life .

Before I begin my paintings, I will take a few simple steps.
I begin with thoughts/ ideas/ theme of what I want to make in paintings/ceramics, then I will start doing my research by taking pictures or putting together the ones that I already have with me. Once I decide what I want to make then I decide on the composition, and medium. As I start making it I see the idea being implemented and do the changes if necessary and complete the work.

The more ART I make the better I get every time and that gives me the confidence to be bold and take more risks in applying new ideas.

I've been an artist since childhood. After high school I went to the Art Institute of Dallas, finished my education at community college & graduated with an art degree in 2015. As an artist, what inspires me to continue are my disabilities. Despite living with Muscular Dystrophy & a mental disorder, it doesn't define who I am, but what I can do. I recently entered an a national art contest called "Cure CMD" & got 3rd place. What I love to paint most is Mexico. From the native stories & myths, landscapes, to the folklore itself. Mexico has so much color & detail that it's hard for it to go unnoticed. For my paintings I use both acrylics & oils. And I really look forward to showing it at the festival.
