This Independence Day, our aircraft will take to the skies in celebrations across the nation as Americans gather to commemorate our country's founding and reflect on the generations who have served to preserve our freedoms.
Among the most momentous events the CAF will participate in is the U.S. Navy's International Aerial Review in New York City as part of Sail 250. The CAF's B-29 Superfortress FIFI, P-51 Gunfighter, and the P-51C Mustang Tuskegee Airmen from the CAF Red Tail Squadron will join a formation of military and civilian aircraft led by the Blue Angels above New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty, and the International Parade of Sail during one of the nation's largest America 250 commemorations.
Later that day, FIFI, Gunfighter, the Tuskegee Airmen, Commemorative Air Force Ready 4 Duty, and the AT-6 Texan Nella from the WASP Squadron will take part in a special flyover of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, honoring generations of service members and military families whose dedication and sacrifice have helped safeguard our nation.
