Dead Fred and Laughing Larry found Isaac examining some of the Boy Scout artifacts and manuals. Isaac said that there was a lot of information in the books and some of it was the same as they used in the wilderness to survive and not get lost. Dead Fred said he thought he could survive in the frontier wilderness. Larry laughed and said “ Fred you would stay lost. You can get lost in a closet! “ stop in and see the guys they have to leave next week. Museum hours are 9-4 on Friday and Saturday.

Laughing Larry asked Isaac Ruddell what he was reading. Isaac told him that it was an account of the massacre that he had witnessed at his station in 1780. Dead Fred then called out what was the title. Isaac replied, “The Kentucky Kidnappings and Death March.” Larry asked where could he buy it? Isaac said the Museum has copies for sale. Stop by. Fri. or Sat. 10-4.

Laughing Larry asked Isaac if he grew to***co back in the early days. Isaac said that they grew some but was more interested in growing food for the family and animals. Dead Fred asked what crops they grew. Isaac said wheat, corn and all kinds of fruit and vegetables. In the museum you can learn more about Kentucky and Harrison County history.

The boys found a deck of card and decided to play some poker to pass the time. “I have a pair of queens. What do you guys have?” asked Isaac. “Well that beats my pair of jacks.” said Laughing Larry. “I beat you both “ said Fred. “I have a full house. Aces and 8s.” “Aces and 8s. That’s the dead man’s hand!” said Larry. “That’s very funny since we are all already dead.” Said Isaac. Come to the museum and maybe the guys will let you join them in the game.

“What are these things?” asked Isaac as they were exploring the toy room. “They were a game for kids” explained Laughing Larry. “A kids game! They look more like a weapon! Someone could be killed!” said Isaac. “We’re already dead so don’t worry about it “ said Dead Fred. Museum hours are Friday and Saturday 10-4. Stop in and see what the boys are up to.

They’re back! Dead Fred, Laughing Larry and Little Louie have returned to the museum and this year they have brought Isaac Ruddell with them. Isaac said “Where are we?” “We’re in a museum and you won’t believe all the things that are in here!” “We’re going to have so much fun!” Said Laughing Larry . WE WILL BE OPEN!!
This Saturday is Bike Fest in Cynthiana. While the street our Musem is on will be closed to traffic (streets in yellow will be closed off so bikers can park) - WE WILL BE OPEN! It is the final day of our summer Treasure Hunt! The $250 Grand Prize drawing will occur at 3pm that day. So don’t let the street closure deter you from visiting. We’ll be open 10am-4pm as usual.
