The Coastal Heritage Museum is part of the Citrus County Historical Society. The museum began in 1986 and is located in the old City Hall building.
In 1963 Governor Farris Bryant named Mary MacRae to head a ten member Citrus County Historical Commission which led to the creation of the Citrus County Historical Society.
