Just a small update. We are waiting on the IRS to process an application for 501c3 status in order to move forward. Keep looking here for further updates.

Greetings to Fellow Model Railroad Enthusiasts

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all model railroad enthusiasts. It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to get to know each of you and share our passion for model railroading.

Club Updates and New Developments

I am excited to share the latest news regarding the Crossville Model Railroad Club. Our anticipation is growing as we prepare to move into our new home. However, as with many projects, we have encountered some unavoidable delays along the way. These setbacks have been caused by various site and building challenges that were beyond our control.
Throughout the past year, our dedicated project manager has worked diligently to keep things progressing. Despite these efforts, we have faced numerous unexpected obstacles—"kinks in the tracks," so to speak—as we continue to pursue our dream of establishing a new space for our club.

Looking Ahead
Our primary goal remains to create a welcoming environment where we can once again operate our trains and open our doors to the public. We look forward to the day when we can invite visitors back to enjoy our exhibits and share in the joy of model railroading together.

As we await the completion of our building, I’ll be sharing some of our members' layouts and discussing their experiences with being part of the Crossville Model Railroad Club. I’ll also provide updates on our progress toward constructing our new home.

Well it finally happened. The club voted tonight to move ahead with the lot on West Avenue. We will be breaking ground next month on September 11. There we will build a 50’X60’ building and I will be sharing pictures as we progress.

We will be beginning a fundraising campaign to help pay for the building. I will post on this site when I have specific details. We will have both types of fund raising. One will be for those who wish a tax right off and those who would like to just make a donation. I may start a Go Fund Me page for those who wish to support us. State laws prohibt us, as a 501c7, from asking for donors on the Internet. Our sister club, The Upper Cumberland Railroad Society, which is a 501c3, wil accept donations for the club.

Watch this site for details.

As 2024 ends and 2025 begins so does the rebirth of the Crossville Model Railroad Club.
Thanks to founding members Jim and Ann Grogitsky, who purchased the lot and will lease it to the club. We also have three very generous donors who have donated for the building construction and site preparation so the club feels very blessed.

Now it is up to the club to prepare our fundraising project which we hope to have up and running sometime in early 2025.

The building will be 3000sq ft and once the plans are complete we will begin the design of our four layouts. Again we will feature N, HO, O and G.

No firm opening date but we are hoping at least by this summer.

Please continue to watch this site for updates and fundraising directions.

Have a Happy and Safe New Year.

The sign is up and the land survey done so the project is on its way. A donor is building our building and the land owner is leasing us the land for a very low rate once we are up and running.

The Crossville Model Railroad Club is very close to having a new home. This is great news as it has been a difficult fifteen months being homeless.

Apparently I jumped the gun in trying to keep you loyal followers on our status with building info that was not ready for distribution. For that I am very sorry.

But please stay tuned as I will make sure I keep all of our valued followers and visitors up to date on the progress.

And thank you all for hanging with us.
