Forgotten Island Traditions

Did you know that Tangier Island used to have a Mardi Gras-style carnival for Halloween? Yep, they sure did.

The carnival used to take place on Main street, but that tradition faded out during the 1960s.

We would love to see some photos from that time if any of the islanders can upload them to Facebook.
