This will be my last post concerning the SRT CONCERT. Our youngsters stole the show. Since our event was held on March 20th which is the date of Sister Rosetta Tharpe’s actual Birthday. We hand our youngsters work with teacher Dorsey Sain painting guitars so they could go on stage at 5:00 to sing happy birthday to Sister Rosetta Tharpe. They were accompanied by Kami Renee. This was so cool. Thank you Dorsey for working with the youth. WE WANT OUR YOUNGSTERS FROM COTTON PLANT TO GROW UP KNOWING WHO SISTER ROSETTA THARPE IS. This is the museums way of Educating them. Having fun and learning at the same time. THESE ARE SOME COOL LOOKING GUITARS.

There was such a great vibe at this year’s SISTER ROSETTA THARPES CONCERT TRIBUTE. Singer songwriter Kami Renee, did not disappoint. She did an amazing job with only two months to learn to play and sing four of Sister Rosetta Tharpe’s songs. This was our first year to have a woman that was able to play a guitar and sing. Thank you to our Stage Announcer, Tank Tyler and Dj- Bennie Fonzie.

A pictures value demonstrated through the success of the Sister Rosetta Tharpe Future Statue Unveiling event, truly worth a thousand words. Gratitude is extended to all attendees, our Mayor Clara Harston Brown with special thanks to Dr. Thomas Tucker for leading the fundraising initiative. Members of the Little Rock Argentry project , John Gauldin, Steven K**k, and Calvin Dean were in attendance as well.

Thomas and I both expressed the importance of the future statue as a tourism piece for not just Cotton Plant but for Arkansas for such a deserving legend.

Museums Director, put on March program at the Cotton Plant Branch Library today. First photo features our star student Miya. Zyaire Floyd and his grandma, won the door prize, a Sister Rosetta Tharpe cup. Thank you to the patrons that came out today to support your local library. Thank you Makeshia Scales Ribinson for having us.

Families come home for funerals and take the opportunity to revisit familiar places, looking at what has changed over time. I saw Mr. Clemell Edmonds' son Leonard and granddaughter driving around today in COTTON PLANT, AR looking for a spot for a photo shoot. I was able to guide them to the perfect location. 🎼🎶🎵🎤🎸🥁🎺🎻DELTA MUSIC TRAIL. SISTER ROSETTA THARPE.
