🌟 Celebrate Mural Week with The ARTS Council!

✨ The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes (The ARTS Council) is proud to announce the completion of 4 new public art murals throughout the Southern Tier. The Cultivating Havens for the Arts through Regional Murals (CHARM) program is an initiative from Governor Kathy Hochul and administered by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).✨

🎀 ✂️ A ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of Tori Immerwahr’s new mural Torchbearers.

🎨 Over the last 5 months, The ARTS Council has worked with Community Arts of Elmira, Broome County Arts Council, Corning Public Art, and Corning’s Gaffer District to bring the following 4 new murals to fruition.

◦ Where We Grow, Elle Yatsuk and Joseph Schultze, 35-39 Pine St., Binghamton, NY 13901 in partnership with Broome County Arts Council

“The ARTS Council was deeply honored to be a part of this initiative to transform public spaces through artistic placemaking,” said Chris Walters, Executive Director of The ARTS Council. “It was an immense privilege to work with artists and community partners across our service area in bringing four murals to life that reflect the unique culture and heritage of our region. 🌟 Just over a month until 2026 💙 - join us in celebrating and supporting The ARTS Council’s work!

✨ At The ARTS Council, we believe creative expression inspires hope and helps our communities thrive together. ✨

🎨 Across five counties, we work directly with artists to amplify their work while crafting programs that invite our communities to experience and connect with the arts. From awarding more than $400,000 in grants this year to support accessible arts experiences to showcasing the work of talented local artists in The Evelyn Peeler Peacock Gallery, our work unifies people through creativity.

🫶 We find joy is in finding ways to support the people who make art happen and to help amplify the creatives who share their inspiring art, stories, and traditions.

💭 While we’re counting down to this year’s giving event, we’ll be introducing ourselves, what we do and why it matters.

The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes (The ARTS Council), in partnership with the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), invites artists, organizations, and towns in Cattaraugus, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, and Tioga counties to apply.

🎨 Awards of up to $7,500 for Community Arts & Teaching Artist Grants.
🎨 Individual Artist applicants could receive up to $5,000.
