Several years ago our dear friends Lisette and Humberto Benitez invited Milda and me to their home in Avon Park, aptly named Artist Manor. There we met Janet & Luis Bonilla. Janet got up and very passionately told us about their project to create La Marielita Rum. She had a sample of the product in a small plastic bottle which she carefully shared with the group. It tasted like fine cognac! Humberto painted the label, Janet and Luis have done and exceptional job of marketing and their efforts were quickly rewarded with the prestigious Robb Report ranking them as one of the top liquors of the years shortly after launch. Truly a remarkable accomplishment and another example of hard work by two people, two exiles, one Marielita one Nicaraguan who embraced the land of opportunity. Felicidades Janet & Luis! Salud!

Proud to share that La Marielita Rum received a Gold Medal and 91 Points from the “Beverage Testing Institute,” and was featured by among the world’s best brands. Recognition like this means even more in a world that’s rediscovering the value of artisanal products made with quality, patience, heart, and soul instead of shortcuts.

La Marielita is not a solera. Our rum is truly aged 18 years, with smaller percentages of higher-aged liquid within the blend. It’s crafted for people who appreciate authentic spirits and real craftsmanship. Moments like this make us proud to show the world what being a Marielita means.

Nature knows how to dance her way into my heart. I surrender to her moments as she shows me the wonders that surround me. Whatever canvas or medium I have in my hands becomes the revelation of that gift ,a journey that brings me closer to the beauty of His creation.

A Very Special Visitor from Switzerland
We are fortunate to welcome visitors from all over the world into our Gallery , but this week was truly special.
We had the honor of receiving a dear collector who has been acquiring my work for many years. It was a beautiful reunion, and I am deeply grateful that another large-scale piece has now found a home and is on its way to Zurich, Switzerland.
