As we continue celebrating our nation’s 250th Anniversary, we’re excited to share a special piece of local history, a home movie of the Bicentennial Wagon Train Pilgrimage passing through Coopersburg on July 1, 1976. Hard to believe this rolled through town more than 50 years ago.

Back in July, we posted a photo and some background about this event. This home movie, filmed by longtime member Cliff Benner, captures the wagon train traveling along Route 309, with most of the footage recorded near Oxford Street, close to St. James Lutheran Church and the former Coopersburg School.

We hope you enjoy this short glimpse into Coopersburg’s past from our collection!

The Coopersburg Halloween Parade committee has informed the office that Sunday's Halloween Parade is POSTPONED due to the weather forecast. The Rain Date is October 18, 2026 at 3pm. Please plan accordingly.

The Coopersburg Halloween Parade is less than one week away on Sunday October 11th, 2026 starting at 3:00 p.m., with a rain date of October 18th. The route runs along Main Street starting at the south end of town and continues up to Fairmount Street. Don’t forget to come out, dress up, and enjoy this fun community tradition!

This photograph from our collection may be slightly overexposed, but it still offers a wonderful view looking south down Main Street. On the left is the edge of the Fire Company Social Quarters, and on the right you can spot the corner of Wismer’s General Store. Likely taken in the mid 1940s, the image captures everyday life in Coopersburg, with delivery trucks parked along Main Street. Look closely to spot the Supplee Ice Cream and Coca Cola signs displayed at Wismer’s.

Thank you for everyone who stopped by to visit us yesterday! We could not have asked for better weather. A huge thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors who make Coopersburg Community Day a success!

Crafters who drove in before sunrise. Churches and nonprofit groups cooking all day so their programs get funded. Businesses that wrote checks months ago so none of you had to pay at the gate. Volunteers in orange vests out here at six this morning. Teachers climbing into a dunk tank and taking it like champs. A helicopter landing on the field at 11:45 with a crowd of kids waiting to get a close look.

Nobody runs this. Everybody runs this.

Thirty five years, and the thing that makes it work hasn't changed. Neighbors show up for each other.

Thank you to every single one of you, including the crew who is still out here cleaning up right now 😎
