My grandfather had been awarded his 💜 during the Korean War. Certain relatives are eligible to join the Military Order of the Purple Heart Auxiliary otherwise known as MOPHA. I planned on joining as it's already in alignment with what I do such as veteran and family aid, hospital volunteering, community outreach, fundraising and legislative advocacy.

On this day in history... My Great Grandpa Frank Delaney Swaim had worked both at Fort Dix and Lakehurst as a career Army Master Carpenter. He was trained in the trade by his grandfather William Hardbank Swaim also of Pointville, a Civil War veteran joined as a drummer boy, seen the bloodiest battles of our nation and was there when Lee surrendered at Appomattox Courthouse. While working at Lakehurst he had built the catwalks and worked around the Hindenburg. Not far away in Bamber in the early 20s is when he had established his cranberry bogs and cabin. Pointville, New Hanover Twp to Bamber, Lacey Twp.

Happy Paranormal Day! 👻 A great time to discuss the investigations by some of the local paranormal teams. Yes there can be activity in the daytime and night time. EVPs are usually plentiful, light strips, catballs, footsteps.... shadow figures. It's a very old settled part of the state not just from the Quakers but from the Native Americans who had been here.
