A fabulous evening at the WMA! The opening reception for our Picasso, Hollinden, and southern print exhibitions started with a curator talk by Richard Townsend and continued with glasses raised for Assistant Professor of Art Lily Hollinden’s painting and mixed-media exhibit. Thank you all for attending and tell a friend about the shows! Exhibitions are on view through Dec. 12, and museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 12 to 5 p.m.

Join us on Friday for the Opening Receptions for PICASSSO and the Progressive Proof, PRESS & PULL: Letterpress and Woodcut Printers of the South, and Lily Hollinden's PEPPER PAGLIACCI!

A talk at 5 p.m. with independent curator Richard Townsend will start the evening off. He will speak about the Picasso exhibition of linocut prints from a private collection that are on view in our Wilcox Todd Gallery!

Installation is in full swing for “Press & Pull: Letterpress and Woodcut Printers of the South!” Work by Sean Star Wars Sean StarWars arrived today and the amazing Hatch Show Print Est. 1879 wall is up. Unique work by Jim Sherraden is next for install. 13 print artists / presses are represented!
All of our fall exhibitions open on September 8 at noon, and the reception is Friday, September 11 from 5-8pm.
Free and open to all!

NATURE'S CANVAS featured artist of the day: Judith Phelps
Judith lives in Battleground, WA. She combines a variety of techniques to create each quilt, but states in an interview that thread painting is one of her favorite methods. Many of the pieces displayed on her website come from challenges hosted by different quilting groups she participates in. From songs, to colors, to nature as a whole, Phelps is inspired by life itself.judith
