On June 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., Anita Cyphers of the Cloud County Genealogical Society will present a program on her father’s business, “You Wreck Them, We Fix Them—Meo Brichalli’s Auto Repair Business.”

Meo began his career by attending Auto Body Repair School while stationed stateside in Atlanta, Georgia, during World War II. While serving in England, he put his skills to work repairing bullet holes and radiators on airplanes. Join us to learn more about his remarkable and exciting career.

This program will be held at the Cloud County Museum located at 635 Broadway. Please use the main entrance on 7th Street. This event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served. If street parking is full, bank parking is also available.

Happy Boston Corbett Days! On May 8 and 9, 1993, the residents of Cloud County, Kansas, had a one-time festival in honor of their most famous resident, the avenger of President Lincoln. From 1878 to 1887, Boston Corbett, the eccentric slayer of John Wilkes Booth, resided in a small dug-out home just south of Concordia, KS. In 1993, the Cloud County Museum themed their open house festival after Corbett. The weekend of activities included a rededication of the site of Corbett's home, a play about Corbett called "The Bible and the Gun," and even a parade. In the lead-up to the event, the local papers appealed for Boston Corbett look-alikes who would walk (or ride their own horse) in the parade and could win $25 after demonstrating their "pistol skills or preaching."

We would like to thank 2026 Concordia High School senior Scarlet for her dedication and hard work at the museum every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon during the spring semester. She has put forth a tremendous effort in condensing and alphabetizing the Switzer and Bergman photo proofs. In addition, Scarlet has assisted with museum events, helped move items, and learned how to enter information into our museum database program. Her willingness to help and learn has been greatly appreciated

It is wonderful when youth help out around the museum. Thank you Skyler for helping decorate for America's 250th Anniversary. We also had fun trying to figure out how to say some Native American names and locations for the program on James Avery.
