ArtXchangeGR is pleased to present the third annual State of the Arts (SOTA) Dinner and Discussion.

Join ArtXchangeGR and its strategic partners for a deep dive into the Grand Rapids arts and culture landscape. Learn how ArtXchangeGR and West Michigan artists of color are leading the way to help boost the city’s creative class, creative economy, and art credentials to build a world-class art hub.

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with NIA (NIA Centre) to present the Black Rapids Art Exhibit and Online Auction this weekend at NIA located at 300 Commerce. This exhibition and auction will showcase artwork created by West Michigan’s leading black and brown artists with artwork NEVER seen by the general public. Visit www.artxchangegr.com for more information and to reserve tickets. Original and reproduced artwork will be available for purchase.

• Exhibit Date: September 17, 2021 – September 19, 2021.
• Exhibit Hours: Fri.: 12-5:00pm, Sat.:10 – 5pm, Sun.:12-5pm
• Online Auction: 12:00 pm, Friday September 17 - 5:00pm Sunday September 19, 2021

Meet one of our newer artist.


Ryan Crawley is an artist who resides in west Michigan. He received his Bachelor Fine Arts with an emphasis in Painting from Western Michigan University. Current artwork is influenced by landscapes, animals,
and sketch paintings. 2020 was an influential year on his artistic journey. He created his first mural titled “Black Anxiety” and created opportunities to work with local organizations.
