For Goodall Gallery’s current exhibiting artist, Anna Byars, transcendence is more than a theme in her work; it has become a pursuit within her art-making process, even if that pursuit is infinitely fleeting.
“TRANSFORM” is on display for 20 more days! Come sit with the work. We want to know if your consciousness is transported beyond the here and now.

It’s always a pleasure to hear the artist’s relationship to their work. Can you spot the influence of stained glass in both exhibitions?

“Southern Hospitality” is up through 02.26.26🧵🎟️

Columbia-based, independent arts writer, critic, and supporter states that the exhibit is a “tragicomedy composed of a large group of installations exploring the world of southern girls and women. There are references to beauty, housework, love and marriage, and religion. Pauza, a native of Tennessee who lives in Maryland, has done a fantastic job transforming symbols of Southern womanhood into something questioning them all.”
The gallery is open today from 10AM-5PM for a solo visit, but for those of you that was to meet the maker, join us 02.26.26 from 5-7PM for the closing reception!

“Throw aways”, worn kitchen rags, shredded threads, yarn, metal snaps, a clothesline, concrete and a planter, 87” X 69”x 69”, 2025.

By our first artist of 2026, April Pauza, 🪡🧵

This piece bypasses the museum standard of “no touching the artwork” instead, inviting gallery guests to touch, hold, and read the worn rags.

Visitors are also encouraged to write their own on a scrap piece of fabric before placing it in a mason jar.

Stop by the gallery to participate in the work for normal hours between 01.12.26 and closing day, Thursday, 02.26.26 from 5-7PM. We will delve into Pauza’s practice through a new, engaged artist talk format, starting at 6:15PM during the reception. Come get inspired.

This piece is en route to the gallery as we speak! Install starts tomorrow morning~~~ stay tuned for a look behind the scenes.

Pictured, “I can feel the Holy Spirit here,” macramé cording, paper pulped bunt cakes, found objects, resin, house paint, and multimedia, 2025.
