For more than 200 years, little was known about the site where Patriot troops won the Siege of Fort Motte in 1781. But a team of archaeologists set out to remedy that in 2004. Come to the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum at noon this Friday, May 22, to learn about what they found. Archaeologist James Legg will deliver a free lecture on the dig at Fort Motte. It is open to the public as part of the museum’s regular Noon Debrief program.

Come to the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum at noon on Friday, May 22, to learn about what archaeologists found at the site. James Legg of the SC Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology will deliver a free lecture on the subject. It is open to the public as part of the museum’s regular Noon Debrief program.
