Just a friendly reminder...

Not only are pets not allowed in artist booths at Art in the Park, but we also care about their well-being! Festival crowds can get very large and loud, which can easily create stress for our furry friends.

If we experience extreme heat or severe weather, it only adds more stress, plus, we also want to avoid any unfriendly run-ins with other pets or pedestrians.

We love our animal kingdom companions so much, but this festival is for artists to share their work with our community, and we want everyone to have a harmonious experience.

Please consider this when making your festival plan! In the meantime, we're all ears for a funny pet story or a cute picture!

The theme for Art in the Park 2026 is The Water's Edge, and this year, festival-goers will see five art installations scattered throughout the park, each one exploring a different aspect of flora and fauna!

This year, you will see installations from artists Stella Chegwidden, Stephanie Farr, Phil Gresham, Bethanie Irons, and local 4th graders from Locust Street Expressive Arts School, Grant Elementary, and Mill Creek Elementary.

For our fifth and final sneak peek at the AIP '26 Art Installations, here is a preview of what artist Stephanie Farr has planned for her installation at this year's festival. This project, titled "Little Blue Heron", will be constructed entirely of human detritus that has been collected along Missouri waterways. Stretching 13' tall and wide, this heron will have an impact in both scale and message, as it is a species currently being monitored by the Missouri Department of Conservation, and it is directly affected by water pollution.

Keep an eye out for Stephanie's work at Art in the Park 2026, June 6 & 7, at Stephens Lake Park in Columbia, MO!

Every year, we aim to create a seamless experience for the Art in the Park festival-goer, which is why we have the CAL tent, a concierge desk of sorts where all your questions can be answered!

If, while walking around at this year's festival, you have a question about a specific artist or art medium, head over to the Columbia Art League tent by the park entrance! We have wonderful volunteers who will be there to guide you down the right path!

The school year came and went, and along with it, our spectacular interns!

It's a perk of the job to be surrounded by such amazing, knowledge-seeking individuals who care about the arts and want to carry the torch in their own careers! These past months have been graced with the presence of Sophia, Nhyira, Lux, and AJ (not pictured), each a perfect addition to the CAL family!

🌟Sophia will begin her Sophomore year at Mizzou this Fall, where she will continue her double major in art history and Spanish, with minors in art, anthropology, and Latin American studies!

🌟Nhyira is entering her Senior year at Mizzou, where she will wrap up her major in biology with an emphasis in pre-med sciences, with a studio art minor and, to top it all off, a certificate in ethical theory in practice!

🌟Lux is a CAL "alumni", having participated in our Mentorship Program, and now interned with us for almost a year. They have just graduated from Rock Bridge High School and will attend Saint Louis University in the Fall, double majoring in art history and studio art!

🌟AJ will be a Mizzou Junior this Fall, where she will continue her studies, majoring in both Art and Art History!

Join us in welcoming back photographer Amy Enderle to Art in the Park 2026! Amy has graciously donated her talent to Art in the Park for years, capturing the vibrant festival energy in her photographs! If you see her roaming around this year, say hi and shoot her a smile!

Enjoy this little questionnaire we did with Amy to (re)-introduce her to the AIP masses!

❔️How long have you been taking photos?
Amy: "More than 25 years -- at one point it was mostly weddings; now I'm a photo volunteer for causes I care about, plus I host pop-up photo shoots on occasion!"

❔️What is your favorite aspect of being a photographer?
Amy: "Being in the moment and finding the story to document.”

❔️What is your favorite part about photographing Art in the Park?
Amy: "The JOY! Stephens Park is the perfect setting, and the colors, the laughter, the diversity, the exuberant volunteers, and the heartfelt reconnections make Art in the Park much more than an event — it’s what makes Columbia home. See you there!”
