We have received a lot of great photos of the June 14 celebration from Angela Beyer. I will be sharing them over the next few days because there are so many. Thank you Angela for sharing these wonderful photos!

Angela Beyer is originally from Colo. She worked at Niland Cafe from 1980 to 1986 as a waitress. She then graduated from Colo High School.

We were surprised with a $1,000 donation from the Jefferson Highway Association on last Sunday! Board Member Terry Wood, all the way from Plattsburg, Missouri, did the honors of presenting us with the check. Thank you for your support!

Here is another group of pictures. These are from the RNC Board President, Brenda McGuire. These pictures include several candid shots of different areas and people. Two of my favorites are the Portraits of Hope: Freedom 250 painting station and the American Legion members presenting the flags.

I am hoping to get some more pictures to share, but as of now these are the last.

Over a century ago, the Reed-Niland Corner opened at a major intersection in Colo. Today, the site is being preserved by a new nonprofit, Reed-Niland Corner, Inc., with celebrations planned for June 14.

The Board of Supervisors approved $30,000 to support the restoration of Reed Niland Corner, helping preserve an important piece of our County's history for future generations. This investment reflects the County's commitment to honoring local heritage and ensuring our communities remain a source of education, remembrance, and community pride. We look forward to seeing this restoration project move forward and the lasting impact it will have on Story County residents and visitors alike. Thank you to members of the Reed Niland Board, Jan Gammon, Brenda McGuire, and Kathy Mens for accepting the big check!
