After much thoughtful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close Trainland USA permanently. 😢

As many of you know, our founder Red Atwood passed away in May of 2022.
Red’s dream of operating one of the largest toy train museums in the world, lasted 40 years and we are sad that it has to end.
We’ve had a good run and thank all of you for your support and patronage over the years.
Red’s Train Shop will still be open by appointment only for those interested in purchasing trains.

We’d like to thank everyone who played a role in building Trainland USA and who worked at Trainland over the past 40 years. We could not have done it without you and we sincerely thank each of you for helping bring joy to so many train lovers and sharing in Red’s passion.

Red’s goal was for everyone who visited Trainland to have a good time. We hope that his goal was fulfilled. 😊🚂

It’s with deep sorrow we share with our Trainland community that our owner and founder, Red Atwood has passed away.
Red always appreciated all of your support and enjoyed meeting so many of you.
Unfortunately with this news, Trainland USA will be closed for the 2022 season.
Thank you again for loving Trainland as much as he did.

Just a friendly reminder that Trainland USA is currently closed for the season. We will open again on Saturday, May 28th, 2022 and will be open on weekends and Holidays through September 5th. We look forward to seeing you all this summer!!

Trainland USA will have special hours for the upcoming 4th of July holiday.
The museum will be open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10AM to 7PM. If you have any questions please call
515-674-3813.
Normal business hours will resume following the holiday weekend.
You can visit Trainland Saturdays and Sundays until Labor Day or by appointment.

Due to a glitch on Google that shows Trainland USA is temporarily closed, we are adjusting our summer hours to weekends only. We will be open every Saturday and Sunday until Labor Day.
We are working with Google to resolve this issue and hope to have it updated in their system soon.
Red's Train Shop will be open on the weekend's as well and by appointment during the week.

In just 5 short days Trainland USA will reopen it doors for the 2021 season.
After being closed in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic, Trainland will be welcoming back the young and old alike to see the USA the toy train way.
Red's Train Shop will also be open along with the Depot that takes you back in time and features authentic railroad memorabilia.
The museum will be open 10AM to 6PM daily starting this Saturday, May 29th and will be open daily through Labor Day.
Please stop by and see us! We've missed you all!!

We are happy to announce that Trainland USA will reopen on Saturday, May 29th for the season. Hours will be 10AM to 6PM, Monday through Sunday. The museum will be open through Labor Day Weekend. All guidelines will be followed in accordance with the Iowa Department of Heath regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.
We look forward to seeing you all back this summer following our Covid shutdown!

As a precautionary health measure for our employees and owners, in light of Covid-19, Trainland USA will be closed until further notice. Red's Trainshop will also be closed during this time. Red's Train Shop pre-holiday sale is just around the corner! Hundreds of trains and railroad items will be on sale this Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Red's Train Shop at Trainland USA. It's a great time to take care of that train lover on your Christmas shopping list or get a toy train set to put around your tree. The sale will be held Friday, November 29th-Sunday, December 1st from 10AM to 6PM daily.

Greetings from Trainland USA!!
Thanks for a great season! The museum will re-open on May 23rd, 2020.
As you know, Christmas is right around the corner and who wouldn't love a toy train chugging around the Christmas Tree?
Red's Train Shop, located in the passenger car at Trainland is having a pre-holiday sale on Friday, Saturday and Sunday November 29th - December 1st. You'll find hundreds of unique gift ideas for that train lover on your holiday shopping list and many other railroad artifacts and collector's items. It's also a great time to get a train set to set up around your tree!!
The sale will be held from 10AM to 6PM each day.
Enjoy some hot chocolate and holiday treats. If you can't make the sale but still want to shop, you can contact Red to set up an appointment at 515-674-3813.
