GARDEN KIN by Jackie Zurfluh opens next Friday, August 14th at J. Rome Gallery!
It’s the season for folksy floral motifs, vegetable garden harvests and stunning layers. Jackie’s exhibition tells her story of motherhood. It’s a colorful and genuine reflection of the seasons of her life as a woman raising her family while also exploring what fuels her heart and mind. 🌼
I first discovered Jackie’s work around the winter of 2025. I was struck by the paintings she was making and the ways she showed up so authentically on her platform. At my gallery, I love working with women artists, especially those like Jackie who boldly proclaim that they aren’t just one thing. I encouraged her to submit work to my inaugural group exhibition at my gallery, and I was honored to show one of her paintings. As I’ve continued to follow her journey, I’ve witnessed her growth as a painter, as a storyteller, and as a multifasceted woman. She shows up confidently in a space where it can be so easy to shy away. Jackie is an inspiration and a role model to me. I also truly think my collectors and community will adore the collection she put together for this month’s show. There’s no better artist to partner with for our very first solo exhibition feature! This is a first for both of us as it’s her first solo gallery exhibition as well.
Friends, let’s show up for Jackie next Friday, the 14th, at our opening reception from 5 to 8 pm during CDA ArtWalk!
