The Yellow Brick Road... is now a Yellow Roof! 🟨🏠

We are reaching the finish line! We are officially in the home stretch for our final city inspection, which will allow us to open the doors to our brand-new home.

There are only two main pieces left in the puzzle: the front entrance door and the roof. Today, the installation of our custom yellow roof officially started, and the results are even better than we imagined! ☀️

Check out that second photo—you can see the building popping all the way from A1A. No one is going to miss us now! Thank you all for your patience as we get every detail just right. We can’t wait to welcome you in.

Safety First: A Quick Update on Our Grand Opening 🏗️

Hi everyone! As we get ready to open our doors in Cocoa Beach, we’ve run into a classic Florida construction crossroads.

While we were hoping to have the front doors set yesterday, we’ve decided to take a step back to ensure the museum is a fortress against Florida weather. We had a choice: a quicker steel-support fix, or the "Florida Gold Standard"—reinforced concrete.

Because the safety of our visitors and the preservation of our collection are our top priorities, we are choosing the concrete path. It takes a little longer to cure, but it’s the safest long-term solution for hurricanes and high winds. 🌪️🛡️

What this means: Our opening will be slightly delayed by a week.

We know you’re excited to step inside, and we promise the wait will be worth the peace of mind! Stay tuned for the official new date.

Headline: A Quick Update from the Yellow Brick Road (The Ups & The Downs!) 🎢🌾

Hey everyone! We have a classic "good news, bad news" update for you today as we race toward the finish line for our grand opening in Cocoa Beach.

The Down:
Today was supposed to be a massive milestone—our highly anticipated front door finally arrived! 🚪 Unfortunately, construction always likes to keep things interesting. The installer encountered a technical issue with the opening cut, so the door couldn’t be fully installed today. While it’s a problem that will be solved in just a few days, this minor hiccup means we missed our deadline to schedule our upcoming inspection. Because of this, our official opening date will most likely be delayed just a bit. We are doing everything we can to get that inspection rescheduled as soon as the door is secure!

The BIG Up:
We might be temporarily locked out, but the world is already noticing where we are! 🌟 TripAdvisor has officially relocated our listing to Cocoa Beach. And guess what? Based on our incredible past performance and your amazing reviews, we are already ranked the #1 Attraction out of 184 Things to Do in Cocoa Beach! 🥇🏆

We are so incredibly proud to bring the magic of Oz to this community, and clearly, the excitement is mutual. Thank you all for your patience, your cheers, and your support as we smooth out these final few bumps in the road.

Stay tuned—we will update you the second we have our new inspection date locked in! 🌪️✨

Progress Update: Bringing the Magic to Cocoa Beach!

We are officially in the "details" phase, and while it’s time-consuming, it is so rewarding to see the new museum come to life! 🌪️✨

We are currently spending our days unpacking hundreds of boxes, deep-cleaning cabinets, installing shelves and doors, and carefully placing our precious memorabilia into their new homes. It’s a labor of love, but ensuring every piece is displayed perfectly takes time.

🧞 A Sneak Peek...

Check out the photos for a first look at the "I Dream of Jeannie" bottle exhibit! This custom photo-op is being prepped for assembly and is going to be a highlight of our new Cocoa Beach location.

🗓️ Timeline Update
While we are making great strides, we have hit one small snag: our roofer has postponed the installation of our signature yellow roof until next week.

Because of this delay, we will be missing our original May opening date. However, there is a silver lining! This gives our team a few extra weeks to perfectly curate the exhibits and prepare for the final city inspections.

🛡️ Safety & Compliance
I had a very productive walkthrough with the Fire Department today. We reviewed all the necessary tasks to pass inspection, and the great news is that we can satisfy all requirements without needing any major structural improvements!

We are working hard to open our doors as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued support and patience—it’s going to be well worth the wait! 👠💛

Update.
Not much is left in the old museum building. All the cabinets have been moved to the new location.
Finally, our front door and new yellow coil for the roof arrived in Florida.
Plans for the new door to be installed on May 27, and the new yellow roof sometime next week.
Of course, we will have a final inspection before we can officially open, which is outside of our control.

A Bittersweet Goodbye & An Exciting New Chapter!

Today marks a major milestone for The Wizard of Oz Immersive Museum. It was our very last day of operation at our old location, and we are feeling incredibly grateful.

To every visitor who walked through our doors and every fan who shared our journey: THANK YOU. You made this museum a success, and your passion for the world of Oz is what keeps us moving down the road!

🚧 Progress Update: Building the Magic
We are working around the clock to bring the new vision to life. While we are striving to open our doors on May 31st, we’re juggling a lot of moving parts—some of which are in Mother Nature’s hands!

Here is a sneak peek at the progress we made just today:

The Children’s Area: Construction has officially begun on our new outdoor Gazebo! 🔨

The "Squirly" Yellow Brick Road: The concrete padding is officially in place! 👣 We have to let the concrete settle for 30 days before we can apply the signature yellow stain, but it’s already looking great.

Sleek New Interiors: We’ve added new black epoxy flooring inside the museum building to perfectly complement our black wall panels. The reflection is stunning! ✨

Accessibility Matters: A brand-new concrete handicap ramp has been installed right in front of our mural to ensure every guest can enjoy the magic comfortably.

We’ll keep you posted as we get closer to the end of the month. We can't wait to welcome you home to our new location! 🏠🦁🌪️

Today, I decided to take a much-needed day off from the construction site to run the current museum all by myself. It gave my body a chance to rest from the heavy physical labor and allowed me to really evaluate our current status, the gift shop, and connect with our guests.

We had a wonderful surprise today—visitors all the way from Maine who came dressed up as Oz characters! Check them out in today's photos! 👠🐕🧺

Meanwhile, the updates haven't stopped:

🎨 Vincent officially finished painting the door and windows for our vibrant front mural.

🌟 He also made some fantastic new updates to the I Dream of Jeannie mural!

⚠️ IMPORTANT UPDATE: We only have 3 MORE DAYS of operation at our current location. Our final day here before we officially close the doors is May 19th.

The real madness starts next week when the big move begins! We'll be packing, unpacking at the new location, installing brand-new projectors, testing our interactive experiences, and so much more.

Thank you all for being on this wild journey with us. The best is yet to come! 🗺️💚

🎨 Big Progress at the New Museum! 🎨

My wife, Palina, and I have been busy today getting the "Emerald" into our new home! We just finished painting the second floor with that iconic emerald green and added the yellow trim along the top. We’ll be carrying that yellow trim down to the first-floor roof level next to really tie the look together. 🦁🌪️👠

Things are moving fast on all sides of the building:

The Mural: The I Dream of Jeannie mural is nearing completion—it looks fantastic and adds such a unique piece of history to our walls! 🏺✨

HVAC: The AC team is hard at work today getting our units installed to keep everyone cool once we open.

The Yellow Brick Road: If you look at the photos, you’ll see the cutout leading to the main entrance. We’ve decided to go with poured concrete instead of asphalt for the road to ensure it lasts for years to come. That pour happens this Monday, and then we’ll be staining it to make it look as realistic and "alive" as possible!

We are on the home stretch and can’t wait to welcome you all into this immersive world very soon.
