A few years ago, Friend of the Museum Kevin Stiver presented information and details about a small town (Glen White) which no longer exists. He authored a book (a few copies are available for sale at our museum) and gave great insight as he presented the findings of his study.

What type of presentations would you like to see at our museum? We're currently looking to fill some calendar dates for late Summer and Fall so send us your suggestions!

Museum Hours: Sundays and Thursdays from 1 PM to 5 PM. Saturdays (Summer) from 10 AM to 2 PM. (Note: Saturday, June 20 -- 10 AM to 4 PM for Coalport Street Fair)

There is never an admission fee -- donations are always appreciated.

Recent guest and Coalport native Delcie (Weakland) McCartney visited our museum recently. Many contributions to the museum's archives were offered, including genealogical documents from the Dietrich family and others. Shown here at a display which includes an audio recording of "Shine Mine" by relative Joe DIetrich, who also was brought up in Coalport, Delcie and husband Mark visit our museum frequently.

If you have family ancestral records, documents, photos, or other community memorabilia which you'd like to add to our collections, contact us or stop by during our open hours!

The museum is open this week on Thursday (1 PM to 5 PM), Saturday for the Coalport Street Fair (10 AM to 4 PM), and Sunday (1 PM to 5 PM). There is never an admission fee -- donations are always appreciated. Volunteers are needed to help us cover our hours and for full participation in the Street Fair -- consider joining us!

We're open every Sunday and Thursday from 1 PM to 5 PM. We will also be open for the Coalport Street Fair on Saturday, June 20, from 10 AM to 4 PM. Stop in to see our new location, temporary and permanent exhibits, mining and community memorabilia, expansive genealogy and ancestry area, school records and more!

There is never a fee for admission -- donations are always appreciated.

Our Coal Museum has quite a plentiful 'raffle basket'--make that an ice cooler--chock FULL of items centered around the "USA/250" theme that we not only are selling tickets AT the museum when we're open on Thursdays and Sundays (1 PM to 5 PM) or Saturdays (10 AM to 2 PM)--right up to June 20th "Coalport Street Fair", but we're also selling chances (*$1.00 each or 6 for $5.00) at Leyo's Supermarket for three days this weekend: Friday, June 12th (3-7 PM); Saturday, June 13th (3-7 PM) and Sunday, June 14th (9 AM-1 PM). This Fundraiser helps us keep our doors open and the lights on.... so we hope our patrons, friends and families will be buying tickets to help us out. THANK YOU!

Not only were there train stations in Coalport and Irvona, but even Rosebud had a stop for passengers to board or for goods to be exchanged. The location of this stop was directly across the Clearfield Creek from Leyo's Supermarket.

Visit our museum to learn more about local railroads, buildings, and more during our open hours: Sundays and Thursdays from 1 PM to 5 PM, and Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM during Summer months. There is never an admission fee - donations are always appreciated.
