Site 5 is one of the 12 once active Atlas missile bases that surrounded Abilene from 1962 to 1965. These days it's a home and museum of the program.

What a wonderful day! It was a bit overcast< but that didn't stop the fun! The Key City Amateur Radio Club held an event today out at the silo. They were attempting to contact the atlas F silo in Plattsburg, N.Y. and the Titan Missile Museum in Green Valley, Az. They also enjoyed a tour of the silo as a part of their event. What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday!
