I didn't take this photo. It was way before my time. I think George Shuba may have. Somehow an 8 x 10 negative and several prints came into my possession badly damaged with lots of creases. Today I fixed one of the prints and I'm so impressed with the amazing things you can do with computer photo programs now. This would've been hell to do in the old days with retouching. This is Cleveland band the Choir and the Yardbirds.

In 1974, I went all the way to Youngstown to see the Raspberries last lineup at Idora Park, one of those old-school amusement parks which closed in the 80s. Loved the colorful canopy over the stage. Wally was cool as usual.

Another band that really kicked butt at Larchmere Porchfest was Da Land Brass Band, with their New Orleans-inspired music. They are so entertaining!

Frida & the Mann were one of the standouts at Larchmere Porchfest Saturday. They drew a huge crowd and people were so blown away by her powerful singing.

I know it's a busy weekend with Tri-C JazzFest and VegFest and "Go Dream" bin the Detroit-Superior Bridge, among other things. But I wanted to alert you to this event at the BOP STOP Saturday night. It features 8 woman-fronted bands in a tribute to NE Ohio women of the past who've had musical successes, from Ruby and the Romantics to Chrissie Hyde to Tracy Chapman. I already saw the show at Jilly's and the Beachland and there're some terrific local bands on this bill. Make art down if you can. Also I will be there with my book "Girls to the Front: 40 Years of Women in Rock."

In honor of Tri-C JazzFest, which runs from tonight through Saturday, here are two noted Cleveland jazz musicians: veteran sax player Ernie Krivda and young trumpet star Dominick Farinacci, taken at Nighttown probably about 15 years ago. Both are playing this weekend: Krivda's Fat Tuesday Band is playing on the outdoor stage tomorrow at 4:15 and Farinacci is part of a "trumpet" summit of noted players who went through Tri-c's jazz program, Saturday at 2:30 in the Mimi Ohio Theatre.

It's very likely that the best band performing in Cleveland today was Apostle Jones, who seem to always knock it out of the party every time they perform — at virtually every major festival in Cleveland.

What an amazing day at Juneteenth Freedom Festival, with so much local art, music, poetry, dancing and drumming talent. Djapo Cultural Arts always brings the excitement!

On my way downtown for the Stones concert tonight I got an email with a free parking pass since I am shooting the show! I was able to park about 100 ft away from the media entrance! Glad I came early and beat all the traffic. I'm going to head over to the Rock Hall, roam around for a few hours, grab something to eat and then photograph some of the biggest Legends in the history of rock! I am excited!

I always found this photo of Paul Michael of the Adults interesting. I think it may have been taken at the Phantasy (because wasn't he always there?) And it looks like it was decorated for Halloween. What a great band that was!
