Last night was just lovely for the opening of Blurred Lines! So grateful for the opportunity to show amongst 4 other amazing female abstract artists spanning the generations. Curated fantastically! Blurred Lines opens this Friday reception 5-8pm in the Forum Gallery at Summit Artspace! I’ll be showing new work along side 4 other Ohio female abstract artists!! I am super excited to announce our first artist feature!! MDA Studio will be showing the work of artist Mike Roman this Friday 5-8pm for Walkabout Tremont! Come stop by and check it out! Inspired by his travels and the beauty of the wood he works on, Mike’s mesmering colorful drawings are pulled out of the shapes and waves he finds in the grain creating shapes and forms of dreams and imagination.

Artist Spotlight: Megan Dardis created the lighthouse mural on the wall at Whiskey Island Still & Eatery! Be sure to check it out next time you're in! We asked her about her awesome creation & she said the following:
"Creating the Lighthouse Mural at Whiskey Island was truly a dream come true for me. Tim gave me an amazing opportunity to paint my first large scale mural, and to create something special to revitalize the space after an older mural was accidentally painted over. I was thrilled to paint a piece of Cleveland in a space that’s loved by so many Clevelanders. Cleveland isn’t really known for its lake life scene but when you’re at Whiskey Island you feel like you’re on your own private island away from it all. I really wanted to make it feel like an island oasis with the bright colors bouncing off the water from the sunsets that are just brilliant over Lake Erie. And for me, the lighthouse itself is a continued symbol of hope and strength for our city. Always out there guiding us.

My current art practice has shifted away from landscape painting to more abstract. I’m still using bright bold colors and lots of expressive and explosive movement in my pieces. I have worked on a few other murals since and love to work large! You can find me at my studio and gallery space in Tremont every second Friday of the month for Walkabout Tremont, at Megan Dardis Art Studio 2535 Scranton Rd, Cleveland or follow me on instagram ."
