Ever heard the term, "Blowing Off Steam"? Well, back in the days of steam engines, boilers were used to boil the water that made the steam to propel the vehicles or move the engines. This boiling process built up a huge amount of steam pressure. That pressure needed to be released in a controled fashion to avoid a boiler explosion if the pressure built higher than the parts and fittings would allow. Hence the term, "Blowing Off Steam"
At the Collection on Palmetto in Clearwater, FL we have working steam cars and engines on display. And this summer on May 30, June 13 and June 27 you can get a ride in one of the antique steam cars. For a $250 donation to our 501c3, you and a guest will receive a ride in whichever car we run that day. You will a*o receive a commemorative brick that will be laid on our veranda for all to see. Visit us or call to schedule your ride today!
