What a wonderful day at the Clearfield County Historical Society as we listened to a very informative presentation by Frank Harchak! Frank explained his very unique hobby of privy digging. We learned about how to date a bottle and he also explained the process of digging. He brought many unique items that he's dug and told how every bottle tells a story!

🫙 Calling all history buffs, antique lovers, and treasure hunters!

Join us this Sunday, August 2nd, at 2:00 PM at the Kerr House Museum for a fascinating presentation by Frank Harchak on "Digging and Dating Antique Bottles."

Many of you may recognize Frank from his appearance on PBS, where he shared his passion for uncovering and identifying historic bottles. Now you have the opportunity to meet him in person as he explains how antique bottles are dated, where they can be found, and the incredible stories these forgotten relics have to tell.

Whether you're an experienced collector, curious about local history, or simply looking for an interesting way to spend your Sunday afternoon, this is a presentation you won't want to miss!

Join us July 28th for this historic celebration!

Please join us on Tuesday, July 28, at 6:00 p.m. along the banks of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, across from the Curwensville VFW, for the dedication of a new historical marker.

The Clearfield County Historical Society, in partnership with America250PA Clearfield County, will officially present this marker commemorating the 1794 Anderson Creek Survey Camp and recognizing the site's important role in the history and settlement of our region.

Come help us celebrate this significant addition to Clearfield County's historical landscape. We hope to see you there!

The 2026 Sue Lanich Memorial Award was presented in memory of long-time committee member, Delvia Kumm. Delvia faithfully served on the parade committee for several years until retiring in 2024. She was a devoted supporter of our local fire service, proudly speaking of the volunteer firefighters who give so much of themselves to protect our communities. Her admiration and respect for those who serve was evident to everyone who knew her. Delvia passed away in January of this year, but her legacy of service, community pride, and unwavering support for our first responders lives on.
🌟 Sue Lanich Memorial Award: Falls Creek Volunteer Fire Department - a department that embodies the spirit of volunteerism and dedication that Delvia so deeply admired.

Congratulations to every unit, organization, business, performer, and volunteer who helped make the 2026 Clearfield County Fair Parade one for the books!

This year’s parade featured even more entries than last year, proving once again that our community continues to grow stronger and show up in a BIG way. ❤️

From the roaring fire trucks and flashing lights to the booming drumlines, incredible floats, classic cars, and smiling faces lining the streets, you brought the energy, the excitement, and the hometown pride that make this tradition so special.
