Hey hey it's Homecoming 2026 for the Clayton Yellowjackets! If in or around town today the parade will be at 1:30pm. JH game is at 4pm HS game starts at 6pm.

Terrible sadness has struck the community today. Steph of Crazy Jeff's BBQ has left this world far too soon. She was a friend of the town, friend of community events and an amazing friend and family of the Herzstein Memorial Museum.
As rough as this is, many of us have memories of the wonderful gal who touched many lives. Events won't quite be the same, but we'll keep a healthy dose of awesome interwoven in all events we are involved with in memory of Steph!

Apologies in advance for the oddness of today.

We are fighting leaks, thankful for the rain though! Also on standby for an appointment.
Meaning as much as we dislike being "that place" the building may or may not be open throughout today. (THURSDAY)

Tomorrow, Friday, weather permitting we will be closed 10am-2pm for community clean-up.

Saturday though! Wonderful Saturday we are open our regular hours and then hosting Dr. Eldin Leighton as our speaker for the Monroe Lecture.

🧹 Downtown Clayton Cleanup Days are October 1–3, and we need more helping hands!

Calling on school groups, church groups, youth groups, local organizations, businesses, families, and neighbors—round up your people and come help us clean up downtown!

When we show up together, we show our whole community that we care about Clayton. It’s also a great way to teach our youth the importance of giving back. 💚

Please comment with the day or days you can attend and how many people you’re bringing so we can plan supplies and projects. Even a little of your time makes a difference!

A special day was had at the Herzstein Memorial Museum!

Charles Swaney with the New Mexico Chapter of the Living New Deal has been a great connection and friend of the museum. Sharing friendship, and knowledge. Today he returned with gifts!
The drawings of the Clayton High School are very rare, sometime in their history laminate was applied, in an effort to preserve the drawings. When Charles noticed this he immediately went to work about seeing how to fix and save the drawings for another near century. Through his club's contacts they were able to take professional photos clean up and restore the images of the originals. The copies have been framed and returned to the W.P.A. exhibit.

A small delegation of folks were also welcomed to tour the high school. Walking the halls of such a historical site meant so much to all in attendance.
