🎨 Week Four of After School Arts! 🎨

This season, we welcomed Clayton local and retired teacher Fred Sovie, who taught our students the art of ice cream this week! 🍦🎨

A HUGE thank-you to Fred for sharing his creativity and expertise with our students, and to all of the young artists who filled our classroom with imagination and fun!

🍂 A BIG thank you to the Minna Anthony Common Nature Center for hosting another fabulous Autumn Festival this weekend! 🍂

We’re so grateful to our wonderful volunteers who helped represent the Thousand Islands Arts Center at our Arts Center table. We also had a couple of our talented weavers demonstrating their craft on a loom, giving both kids and adults the opportunity to experience the art of handweaving and help keep this special tradition alive! 🧶❤️

We hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend! And to all our seasonal friends who are heading out for the year, we’ll miss you and look forward to seeing you again next season! Until then, thank you for being part of our amazing community. 🍁

The Thousand Islands Arts Center is looking for pottery instructors, specifically to teach kids in our pottery studio!

Applicants must have hands-on pottery experience, strong knowledge of proper pottery techniques and safe studio practices, and the ability to guide young learners with patience and enthusiasm.

🧶 Step into our Weaving Studio! 🧶

Our weaving studio is where tradition, creativity, and community come together. Every Wednesday, a group of “Wednesday Weavers” gather at looms in the studio to create, share knowledge, and keep the rich tradition of handweaving alive. Featured are two of the talented weavers who make our studio so special: Pat DeStefanis and our newest member, Karen Cross!

Interested in learning more about weaving and its history? Join us virtually October 19–21 for our Weaving History Conference! 🌎

Hosted on Zoom, this annual conference brings together historians, artists, scholars, and weaving enthusiasts from around the world to explore the cultural, historical, and artistic significance of handweaving and fiber arts.
