The Mtn Craft Film Festival Winners Tour is Coming to Waldomore!

Join us for a special screening celebrating outstanding regional and independent filmmakers! The Mtn Craft Film Festival Winners Tour is making a stop at Waldomore on September 11 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

Come check out an exciting showcase of award-winning films, learn more about the talented filmmakers behind them, and experience the best of local cinema right in our community. This event is free and open to the public!

Swing by today from 5:30 to 6:30 PM for a lively Tarantella Dance Class as part of Clarksburg's First Fridays event. It’s a great way to get moving and try out a traditional Italian folk dance along with other downtown festivities.

If you're a fan of local history, you won't want to miss the exhibit on display today and running all month long titled "From Slate Boards to Smart Boards: The History of Harrison County Schools." This collection traces the county's educational journey from remote one-room schoolhouses to modern consolidated schools. Whether you're an alumnus reminiscing about long-closed halls or just curious about the past, it’s a wonderful walk down memory lane!

Come step back in time and connect with history as we showcase an incredible collection of artifacts and memories, including:
A real Civil War cannonball,
Audio/visual playbacks of moving oral histories from local veterans,
A historic 48-star American flag,
Authentic WWII war ration cards,
Various newspapers from the time periods,
✨ ...and much more!

This exhibit was made possible through the generous support of the Friends of the Library, with blinds funded by proceeds from the Friends of the Library Book Sale. When you visit, you can also enjoy the beautiful, custom window seat cushions handcrafted by Carol Belknap!

Whether you enjoy hands-on tasks like setting up chairs and tables for events or prefer the quiet precision of shelving and filing, there is a place for you here. Tech-savvy helpers are needed for media transfer, digitizing, cataloging and record keeping/preparing, while history buffs can dive into microfilm research requests and inventory projects. Join us in safeguarding our genealogy and local history. Your time and talents ensure our culture continues to thrive for generations to come!

Our first Waldomore Sampler Society gathering was a success! A conglomeration of various skill levels came together to embroider beautiful flowers on some of our favorite pieces so we may wear them proudly! 🙂 Hope you can join us again on July 27 for “Berry Sweet”. And if you missed June’s meeting - no problem. All are welcome!
