The Clarendon Hills Historical Society wants to thank and recommend local resident Christian Schloegel, C+I Services LLC (web: candiservicesllc.com) (phone: 630-247-8737) for your landscaping needs. They did a great job spreading mulch at our location. We appreciate their donation every year of weeding, edging and mulching and also thank the Village of Clarendon Hills for providing the mulch! And another thanks to our anonymous member who plants our flowers! They look amazing. Your museum now looks beautiful!

We had a surprise visit from former residents who grew up on Grant Street in Clarendon Hills in the 50s and 60s, Brent Kuhn and his sister, Valerie Kuhn Reid. Valerie wrote a book called "One Stop West of Hinsdale" about her years growing up here that's available on Amazon. Here's a photo of them in the Historical Society. Valerie is sitting on one of our newly refurbished stools that were in Parkers and then Lambert's Drug Store in front of the soda fountain (now Open Door). We have all five of them and they're in great shape. It was a fun visit!

Michael McLaughlin Nemechek, son of passenger Ray McLaughlin, and his wife Loretta visited the Clarendon Hills Historical Society recently to view our TWA exhibit. They also visited the TWA memorial along Clarendon Hills Road. It was very nice to meet them as well as their daughter, Marissa, a few years ago when she visited.

Thanks so much to our dedicated member who takes care of our Lion planter each season for us. She also helps us with our east garden bed. We are very grateful (she wants to remain anonymous).

Martha Washington showed up on April 16 and told us about her life with George. She did a great job and we provided some Apple Puffs that we made from the Martha Washington Cookbook. They were great as were the patriotic cookies celebrating Martha and our 250th Anniversary this year. Don Brown, Jan Cummings, Martha (Michelle Gibbons), and Peg & Dan Bellich are shown in the photo.
