Happy Juneteenth! This is footage from our celebration with the Southern Burlington County NAACP back in 2018 (before it became a nationally recognized holiday).
“Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Deriving its name from combining June and nineteenth, it is celebrated on the anniversary of the order by Major General Gordon Granger proclaiming freedom for enslaved people in Texas on June 19, 1865.”

The vision for our museum was started in 1990 when our founder, Joseph Jackson wrote a letter to Justice Thurgood Marshall. Thirty two years later, we witness this history!

We would also like to take a moment to thank ALL essential workers for their efforts during this COVID 19 crisis. Two organizations hold a special place in our hearts. The staff at Davita (Main Street in Lumberton) and PRN Medical Transport (Hainesport NJ). They gave exceptional service to our father/Founder Joseph Jackson, through rain/shine, weekends, holidays... and we just wanted to shout out their dedication and service in the midst of this crisis.
