in 1914, the newspaper reported that "Tuesday of this week the movement of the refugees from the fort began, their destination being Eagle Pass, at which point they were turned back to their native country. The soldiers are also leaving, and the post will be entirely abandoned except for the venerable caretaker. What is the immediate prospect of having the fort regarrisoned is, is not now known. It is certainly a matter that ought to be the keenest local interest. The departure of the refugees and the troops mean a considerable loss to this town even now already considerably felt."

We’re starting our next sizable collection project: The Inter Tribal Indian Ceremonial posters.

These posters have been stored all over the place and were in no type of logical order. Time to fix that! Over the coming weeks we will be sorting, researching, and rehousing these posters and getting them added to our database. There will definitely be more social media content on them/the project as well, so don’t worry.

Note: you may think this is a lot of posters…but there are actually about two dozen more that are either on display or at our other building and are not shown here!

in 1904, the newspaper reported that "C.C. Manning has purchased a new Northern automobile and when it works, enjoys himself riding in it. It may be stated, however, that most of the time during the two weeks which he has had it that the thing has "bucked" and much time has been put in getting the thing to go."
