Vance's fanaticism appears more intellectualized. He isn’t born from the reality TV sensationalism of Trump; instead, his fanaticism for right-wing populism is ideological, albeit opportunistic. He wears his fanaticism under the guise of a thoughtful transformation from critic of Trump to ardent supporter.

In sum, Trump is a zealot with a single cause—himself. Vance is fanatic and intellectually flexible yet consistently aligned with whatever current political winds advance his own stature.
