Weekend Passport: Loyola University Museum Of Art’s Crèche Exhibit
The Loyola University Museum of Art (LUMA) stops by to tell us about their annual Christmas season Crèche Exhibit.
Our 9th annual Art and Faith of the Crèche exhibit opens tomorrow! See dozens of hand-crafted Nativity scenes from around the world, and shop at our pop-up gift shop. As always, admission to the museum is free for Loyola students.
Loyola University Chicago is sponsoring a screening of "Miss Sloane", a new film starring Jessica Chastain. Interested in seeing the film before it is released? AMC River East 21 will be hosting a pre-screening of the film on December 6th, and we are giving out free tickets! First come, first serve - http://www.gofobo.com/MSLUMA

Loyola University Museum of Art is participating in Chicago Museum Week, which means free admission for all Illinois residents this week. Loyola students always get in free at LUMA, but if you're looking for something to do in the city this week, stop by LUMA with a guest and be sure to check out the other participating museums. From October 13–23, Chicago's top museums are joining together to celebrate Museum Week. Take advantage of discounted admissions, special exhibits, giveaways and more at each of the 12 participating museums.

#TBT "Ten Thousand Ripples", our Summer Exhibition in 2013.
The Ten Thousand Ripples project is a partnership between local artist Indira Johnson, Changing Worlds, LUMA, and other cultural and educational organizations in the Chicago area. The project highlights the power of art to transform the space in which it lives. The project launched in 2012 with 100 fiberglass and resin Buddha sculptures created by Johnson installed at sites chosen by the ten participating communities. Companion artistic programming reached an estimated 1,000 youth and tens of thousands of residents.

It's #FreeTuesday at the museum for Illinois Residents. Bring your friends and family to LUMA to check out our current exhibitions, "A Persistence of Memory" by William Utermohlen, "South Williamsburg" by William Castellana, and "Community Uprooted" by Richard Wasserman.

Get inspired by the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque figures of the Martin D'Arcy gallery and practice your sketching. Bring your own pencil and pad, and enjoy an afternoon in the D'Arcy Galleries.
#TBT to "The Missing Piece" exhibition from 2006. As part of the project, artists executed works based on His Holiness and the themes of compassion, peace, harmony, community, people in exile, spirituality, nonviolence, and unity of all things through traditional art disciplines, electronic media, and performance art.
