Zachary Strong and Damien Lee produced and directed some notable direct-to-video schlock throughout the 80s & 90s but in 1978 they brought us HOT TEENAGE ASSETS, which was screening alongside MASTERPIECE (1978) (Strong’s remake of his 1975 gay film, RAOUL’S MASTERPIECE) at Admiral on January 19, 1979.

Not so much a parody of STAR WARS as it is inspired by the blockbuster success, the film has more in common with BARBARELLA than George Lucas’ space fantasy. The film featured Tomi La Roux as the titular character and was screening at Cork on October 13, 1978 alongside what can be assumed is John Holmes in LIQUID LIPS (1976).

A comedic take on the works of Marquis De Sade, the film was directed by Mac Ahlberg who would go onto shoot INNOCENT BLOOD (1992) & BEVERLY HILLS COP 3 (1994) for John Landis, the two BRADY BUNCH pictures, as well as several Charles Band joints including RE-ANIMATOR (1985), FROM BEYOND (1986), and ZONE TROOPERS (1985).
