Chesterland Historical Village To Have Annual Flea Market

The Chesterland Historical Foundation is having its Annual Flea Market on Saturday, August 15th, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This Fundraiser will take place at corner of Mayfield and Caves Road and will feature local vendors, food trucks, and music. There will be a $3.00 adult admissions fee. The Cleveland & Eastern Interurban Historical Society will have a table offering a variety of books related to interurbans and railroads.

Business Meeting Is Set For September 3rd.

We will be having our August Business Meeting on Thursday, September 3rd, between 7:00 and 8:00 P.M. The meeting will be at the Old Town Hall at the Chesterland Historical Village at the corner of Mayfield & Caves Road.

Members and Non-Members are encouraged to attend! Here is a great opportunity to get to learn about us, and become involved with our organization!

The Museum Will Be Open On Sunday, September 6th!

Our next Open House will be on Sunday, September 6th, between 1:00 to 4:00 pm. At the Museum, you can discover more about the Cleveland & Eastern, the interurban railroad that changed Geauga County in the early 20th Century.

You can watch DVDs about the C&E; enjoy numerous historic photographs of the railroad and area; view many books, models, maps, and artifacts of the railway; and view an actual operating model layout of the road. Outside, on Village grounds, you can tour the original Chesterland station; and see an original freight cart restored by Society members.

Knowledgeable volunteers will be available to answer your questions and relate the history of this unique railroad. The Museum is free, but there are also opportunities to donate and/or become a member of the Society. Other buildings at the Historical Village will be open.

Dan Rager To Describe Early Ground Transportation In Ohio

Dan Rager, author of a series of books about the C & E, the Lake Division of the B & O Railroad, and a history of Ohio Interurbans, will be presenting a talk on his new book: Ohio−Gateway to America−Ground Transportation 1776-2026. The talk will be at the Mayfield Township Historical Society, 606 SOM Ctr Rd, Mayfield, OH 44143 on Tues. September 9, 2026, at 7 pm. Call (440) 461-0055 to insure a seat.
