About Robbie
Robbie is a native of Lynchburg, Virginia. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from James Madison University and taught in Virginia public school systems for a number of years. Over the past few years Robbie has taught various workshops and art classes in galleries and museums. Currently she is a self employed artist living in Chesapeake, Virginia. 'I have been interested in h
istory and the people of by gone eras since childhood. This sense of history was instilled in me by my grandmother who took me visiting to Virginia's many historical plantations. Through my drawings I strive to capture the details and character that make each home or building unique. My goal as an artist is to share the beauty of these antiquities with others and to help more people become aware of the many treasures located just around the corner.'
Also, as time progresses I've realized the importance of humor in one's life. I really get a kick out of drawing animals in human situations. Just like people, each bird has its own personality and I relish each laugh I hear when someone first sees one of my bird drawings. I have begun to experiment with soft sculpture (as with my free standing mermaids) and some collage. Home portraits are available and all that I need is a clear photo showing the entire home.
