Our Story

The Southwest Spokane County Historical Society operates the Cheney Historical Museum to share the history of the Marshall, Four Lakes, Cheney, Tyler & Amber districts of southwest Spokane County in eastern Washington since 1935.

Donโ€™t let the name change confuse you. We are the same Cheney Historical Museum. Our name changed legally to The Southwest Spokane County Historical Society in 2012. But, we also officially use the dba (doing business as) Cheney Historical Museum to keep our connection to our beginnings.

Does anyone remember the parkade at or next to Woolworth in the early 60's? It would put the vehicle on a lift and place it in a spot. It was a few stories high. I am looking for any photo's. Ken
