The Alice T. Miner Museum holds a diverse collection of furniture, ceramics, textiles, books, manusc Established in 1924, the Alice T. Miner herself.

Miner Museum houses a rich collection of Early American furniture, textiles, ceramics, and other decorative arts. The twelve period rooms of this reconstructed 1820s stone building offer a glimpse into Alice Miner's vision of the past and the Colonial Revival movement of the early 20th century. Visitors will also get to know Alice T. Learn about her life in turn-of-the-century Chicago and at Heart

's Delight Farm here in Chazy, and about the philanthropic work she and her husband, William H. Miner, carried out in the North Country.

We had a great time at the Miner Institute Open House on Saturday, and Leni will be returning this Saturday, August 8 for our annual Heart's Delight Farm walking tour! Join her at either 10:00 am or 1:00 pm for a stroll around the Institute's historic area to learn more about what it was like 100+ years ago. No registration needed; meet up by the Farm Office and wear comfy shoes!

Thanks so much to everyone who came out last night for Thaddeus Booth Trudo's presentation on the early settlement of Chazy Landing! It was wonderful to see so many familiar and new faces in the house.

We are planning more talks on Chazy history, including one this fall on the town's general stores, but would also love to hear from you: what local history topics are you interested in learning more about?

FYI if you are planning to come out for the talk this evening: Route 9 between Fiske Road and Miner Farm Road is currently closed while crews repair a utility pole. If you are approaching from the north, you can still get into the parking lot via Miner Farm Road, but folks heading up on 9 will need to detour. Hopefully they'll be done by the time we're ready to get started!
