Artist Reception: Sunday, July 24, 3-5PM at the Museum, artist N. Diana Thorpe

N. Diana Thorpe’s art evokes a sense of coming home, and seeing nature in a way that we often fail to notice. She captures moments in time that are re-experienced every time her paintings are viewed; she engages her viewers, so that we hear the birdsong and the rolling thunder. We feel the wind and warm sun on our faces and see the clouds moving through the sky. Thorpe enjoys painting a variety of subjects, but finds herself drawn to local scenes that she paints in acrylics, watercolors and oils. There will be something for all to see and relate to. There will be a number of small paintings on hand.

Light refreshments will be provided. Entrance on Walker Street will be open, which is closer to the Museum. Admission is free. Join us and enjoy Diana's artwork and a nice walk through the Gardens.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family of our friend, Judith Knott Tyler of Pine Knott Farm Hellebores. We learned this morning of her passing from cancer on March 18. She was a lovely lady and a friend to us in donating beautiful Hellebores to the Gardens. We have them planted in several areas and every time we walk back we are reminded of her kindness.
Rest in Peace, dear lady.
