Churchill was dumped as Prime Minister in the ‘45 elections. He represented an open, traditionally liberal outlook but Britain's future was to be inward looking, socialistic and the abandonment of Churchill 's "broad sunlit uplands". They have never recovered from the inevitable failure of Socialism. They flounder like a dying fish gasping for a future.
