Here are my two paintings I’m submitting into the Belmont plein air competition today at the Garibaldi festival in downtown Belmont. Come down to Stowe Park and see all the art from artists that I’ve been painting around town for the past two days. There’s live music, food trucks and a ton of art to see.

Painted this scene Monday on Lake Norman in Davidson. Didn’t love the composition so made some changes after the fact - added the kayaker and adjusted the background.

Painted the scene of the Catawba river at Riverbend Park in Conover, North Carolina. I love painting, rivers, especially ones with rocks breaking the water. Water does certainly pose a challenge though.

Got the chance today to finish up this painting I started outdoors during the big snowfall here in NC. I still remember numb fingers and a frozen nose while I was cozy indoors finishing it up. I love painting snow but I’m definitely a summer outdoor painter lol
