All Good Things Must Come to An End…

We are sad to announce that after two years of operation, Alchemy and Gallery C3 will be closing our doors on Sunday, July 10, 2022, following the dinner service.

Opened in June of 2020, Alchemy served creations from Chef Ken Aponte and his team that highlighted vegetables and showcased unique ingredients such as Lion’s Mane mushrooms, all while accommodating all dietary preferences and restrictions.

We sincerely thank all our guests, friends, artists, and clientele for the opportunity to share Alchemy’s story, food, and staff with you and your families. It has been a pleasure serving some of the most amazing patrons who shared in our culinary and artistic vision.

We invite our supporters and friends to dine with us and come support the artists currently showing in our space during these last few days of operation to share the food and friendship that has meant so much to us. We will be open Thursday and Friday for dinner, and for brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday.

We’re grateful to all of you.

Are you on the HUNT for something to do this weekend? Join us in the Gallery for the debut of our latest art exhibition, HUNT {micro cosmic portals} on 12.03.2021.

Featuring 5 multimodal artists: William Stephen Davis, Bradlee Crawford Hicks, Gregory Jamie, Stephen Warwick, and Yang Yu will each share a mixture of trained and intuitively-developed creative languages, media formats including painting, watercolor, graphite, analog collage, video art, pen + ink, music and performative installation.

In addition to the exhibition, we are also a stop on the South End Gallery Crawl, and we are hosting a night of music and food with DJ Joshua Anthony and bewithus productions in our Lounge. Join us for an experiential night of art, music, and food.

C3Lab will be hosting FREE Open Studios on Friday, August 6th from 7 to 10pm with all the artists of C3Lab. Explore original local artwork and look for amazing vintage finds from several local creatives. Guest artists & vendors for the evening include Del Fuego - Peruvian Hot Sauce and Mama's Gal - Handmade Statement Jewelry. Other activities include hands-on art creations with UpCycleArts Charlotte, plus a scavenger hunt by AlexRox where two people will win FREE Gift Cards to Alchemy restaurant!

EXHIBIT DETAILS:
Having enjoyed a misspent youth in the New Jersey, New York and Boston area, David Palmer migrated to Los Angeles in the early 70’s. There he continued his incredibly long childhood by singing for and writing songs with the likes of Steely Dan, Carole King and Steve Tyrell. After twenty five years in the music biz, Mr. Palmer discovered he had a passion for digital photography and digital images. He’s spent the last ten years shooting and retouching and, in general, learning the craft. Over time he has developed a style he calls Romantic Realism.
The writer and artist, Peter Sacks, has called Mr. Palmer’s photographs “intriguing and mysterious in their blends of image, implied narrative, setting and character - there are entire worlds there on that threshold between very clear reality and imagination or fantasy. A kind of photographic equivalent of magical realism, weird and alluring...”

So much fun hosting the young ladies from Camp Blackmon with this week's theme of WOMEN IN ARTS! A big shout out and thank you to two incredibly talented artists for sharing their knowledge, workspace & time to teach the girls that women can be successful artists. Both and Meredith showed how their applied arts practice has produced amazing creative works! The girls also toured all the artists workspaces and , then viewed public artwork throughout the South End area. Last image shows the girls striking a "Tronie" pose (thanks to the quick sketch inspirations of artist ) for the camera.
