Ninepipes Museum invites the public to our annual Fall Gathering to celebrate the last day of the open season! Enjoy live music with Richard Tobel and his guitar, the Late Bloomers band, refreshments, raffle drawings, guest artisans and authors, early bird Christmas sales and door prizes!

We will also be having That One Guys BBQ and Tacos back again serving their delicious food.

Don't forget to bring a food item to donate to the Ronan Bread Basket and get your free entry into the museum!

After our Fall Gathering event the museum will be open by appointment only until the spring, so be sure to stop in and check out our wonderful event and stock up on all your favorite goodies!

Dr. Lori Lambert is an enrolled member of the Nulhegan Abenaki tribe in Vermont.
She is an Arctic researcher with two doctoral degrees: Medical Ecology and Medical Anthropology. Dr. Lambert is a respected international presenter and has been the keynote for conferences in Norway, Finland, Canada, France, and Australia.

She is a member of the Vermont Abenaki Artist Association as a master bead worker. Lori is the author of 6 books including Research for Indigenous Survival: research methodologies in social sciences, which was published by SKC Press and was translated into Braille. She is the co author of two books and numerous journal articles. Lori is the wife of Dr. Frank Tyro whom she met in Churchill in 1988, and has lived in Montana for over 33 years.

Lori and Frank will both be here at our Fall Gathering Event on October 31st, stop in and check out her wonderful jewelry and accessories.

🪻𝐋𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐢🪻
Known far and wide as Lavender Lori, Lori Parr has been farming lavender in western Montana for 25 years since 2001. Her hand-crafted products are found at regional farmers markets, craft shows, restaurants, confectioners, and retail shops. Her hands-on trial and error farming experience and penchant for studious notetaking in the field coalesced into her first self-published book, "Lavender Farming: Secrets from a Hard Row Hoed."
Consulting (on-line or in person) is one of her specialties if you think you'd like to be a lavender farmer or if troubles plague your established farm. Book signings, presentations, crafting classes, and demonstrations can be booked for kids and adults throughout the year, indoors or out. Jan Kauffman takes time out these days to be creative after retiring in 2015 from her banking career. Jan’s marvelous talent takes shape in the form of unique baskets and gorgeous oil paintings.
She spends the Summer and Fall months oil painting, mostly wildlife and outdoor related themes and has completed portraits. In the Winter months she makes pine needle baskets. Self-taught, Jan has had to make a lot of changes through the years, learning as she goes. She spends time gathering local ponderosa pine needles from downed trees, and in the fall she sorts those dried needles, bakes them in glycerin water to darken them in color and make them pliable. She is always looking for antlers, beads, leather, conchos, etc. for embellishment.

Jan has supported the museum in many ways over the years, from sitting on our board, to volunteering in the shop and helping create exhibits. You can find her vibrant work in our gift shop year around.
She will be here at our Fall Gathering Event on October 31st, so be sure to stop in and check out her amazing work.

𝙁𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝘼𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙧📖
Dr. Diane K. Boyd has five decades of expertise in behavior, conservation, and management of wild wolf populations. She began her career in 1977 with Dr. L. David Mech’s Minnesota wolf research. She moved to Montana in 1979 to study gray wolf recovery in the Rocky Mountains, from the first natural colonizer to approximately 3,000 wolves today in the western U.S.
Her work has focused on wolf ecology, dispersal, habitat use, prey selection, genetic relationships, and social dimensions of wolf-human conflicts. She has collaborated on wolf research in Montana, British Columbia, Alberta, Ellesmere Island, Mexican wolves, Italy, and Romania. She has published more than fifty articles in scientific journals, book chapters, and popular literature. Diane retired from field work in 2019 but is continuing her wolf conservation efforts through teaching and writing. Her debut memoir, “A Woman Among Wolves: My Forty Year Journey Through Wolf Recovery” was released September 10, 2024.

She will be here for our Fall Gathering on October 31st, and will be telling more about her journey. Book readings start at 11am.

Frank H. Tyro is a multiple award-winning broadcast media professional and photographer with 57 years of experience documenting wildlife, landscapes, and people across the globe. A longtime educator at Salish Kootenai College on the Flathead Indian Reservation, he has visited Churchill, Manitoba, the "Polar Bear Capital of the World," over 50 times and has crossed the Arctic Circle in three countries. His memoir, My Arctic Obsession: ....and other memories, chronicles a life shaped by curiosity and adventure. Follow Frank for updates on new releases.
