Get a taste of the rich roots & rhythms of the Black American South through Butter Pecan, a powerful solo exhibition by kolpeace, on view through May 24. ⁣

Drawing inspiration from the 1990s and 2000s, Butter Pecan redefines themes of survival and defiance through the artist’s ongoing body of work, Made Down South. Through woven and fabricated artworks, the exhibition critically examines the era of Jim Crow and its lingering effects while portraying Black Southern life as more than labor or sharecropping, but as a deeply human story of resilience, culture, and identity.⁣

“South Carolina is my home, my love, my hate, my inspiration.” -Kolpeace⁣

Don’t miss this moving and powerful exhibition.⁣
